The painting executed in 1908 was exhibited in Galerie Thannhauser in Munich in 1909 and 1925. Sachs purchased this portrait between 1916 and 1921.

The artwork was sequestrated by the Nazi government and sent to the museum in Görlitz in 1940. Afterwards the picture was transferred to the depository in Kunów (Kuhna in German) it disappeared without trace. For the time being it has been declared missing.
