Other Relevant Historical Information:

Obraz została zakupiony podczas podróży włoskich Gustava Adolfa von Ingenheim. After his death in 1855 it was inherited by his daugther Marianne and in 1915 by her brother Franz living in Reisewitz. In 1930s the portrait was offered to the art delaers Duveen Brothers. Bernard Berenson was asked to provide an expertise on the painting and recived its photograph in summer 1936. On the backside of the photograph there is a note "ex Ingenheim", that could mean that family succeded in selling the painting.
