Other Relevant Historical Information:

The painting was offered in 1924 at action in the auction house Bangel in Frankfurt (Main). Probably there it was purchased by Leo Smoschewer. The painting remained in the possession of the family Smoschewer till 1939, not having been presented in any exhibition and by that not having been made available to the public. In March 1939 the director of the Silesian Museum of Fine Arts (Schlesisches Museum der Bildenden Künste), Müller Hofstede made the painting deliver to the museum and decided to purchase it. A poor few days before Mrs Smoschewer's suicide the purchase was made.

Through the museum the painting was sent in July 1944 to Kamieniec Ząbkowicki (Kamenz), where the trace of it was lost for a long time. From the 1970s it was housed in a private collection in Warsaw and in 2003 was offered at auction in the auction house Rempex in Warsaw. In the same auction house the painting was offered once again in 2010. It then entered into the possession of the Viennese Art Agency Weinpolter which sold it to a private collection in Vienna.
