Till 1942 the painting belonged to the collection of the Decker family, which was housed in the chateau of Zwierzyniec (Dittersbach). On 12/13 May 1942 it was offered on auction by Hans W. Lange in Berlin and so its new owner became Hans Carl Krüger from Berlin. Afterwards it was purchased to "Sonderauftrag Linz". It was recorded in Central Collecting Point of Munich (no. 1719). In 1966 the painting was sent as a deposit of West Germany to the Museum für Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte der Hansestadt, situated in the Behnhaus/Drägerhaus in Lübeck.
