Max Pringsheim
Description of the collection:

In the collection of Max Pringsheim most prominently featured were the works by Dutch artists (e.g. Théophile de Bock, Lodewijk Frederik Hendrik Apol). The industrialist collected also some paintings by Germans such as Ludwig Knaus, Gabriel Max and Joseph Israels. He held in particular esteem the paintings by artists from the so-called Barbizon school: Camille Corot, Charles François Daubigny, Virgilio Diaz de la Peña, Constant Troyon and Jules Dupré.
